WORLD 800 metres champion Wilson Kipketer will compete for Denmark in the European Cup, to be held in Bergen on June 28th and 29th, despite being ruled out of the country's Olympic team.

Kipketer, who is of Kenyan origin, has lived in Denmark for five and a half years and is in the process of applying for Danish nationality. He has been allowed to compete in the European Cup due to a special concession from the International Amateur Athletic Association.

The Kenyan Olympic Committee has refused, however, to grant the world champion permission to run for Denmark in the Olympics.
