The Killarney racecourse executive have been warned by the Turf Club that fixtures may be called off if routine maintenance work is not carried out more promptly in the future.

The warning arose from an inquiry held yesterday into the complaints made about the state of the racetrack at Killarney for the July festival meeting.

The stewards accepted that the track was safe for racing but they found that it was rough and uneven in parts.
