KILDARE finished their National Hurling League Division Three Campaign on a winning note at Newbridge yesterday.

Wicklow started well with early points from Damien Sheehan and Stephen Kennedy before Michael O'Neill found the net.

Kildare recovered, and a goal by Eamonn Kelly gave them a 1-5 to 1-4 interval lead.

Kildare were the stronger side in the second half and would have had an easier win but for a number of fine saves by Wicklow goalkeeper Michael Neary
