Gaelic Games NewsGAA president Seán Kelly has criticised RTÉ's Sunday Game for its programme of yesterday week and made a veiled threat in relation to the renewal of the station's contract to cover Gaelic games.

In a message published at the start of yesterday's match programme he stated: "Anyway The Sunday Game is always enjoyable. Last Sunday's programme was unbalanced. Right of reply on the night is a reasonable requirement. But there is a little matter of a little contract to be negotiated and signed with RTÉ presently. Lesson learnt. Now for the exam!"

This is believed to be a reference to an item dealing with the GAA's reaction to the sponsoring of players' hurls in the Cork-Wexford drawn All-Ireland semi-final two weeks ago.
