A goal from a penalty by Eamon Kavanagh, eight minutes from time, earned the Tyrone champions a place in the Ulster SF club semi-final after this rugged encounter at Clontibret yesterday. In a storming finish, Clontibret missed a golden opportunity when a penalty of theirs, struck by Kieran Lavelle, was saved by Errigal goalkeeper Cathal McAnenly.

The final minutes saw Clontibret storm the Errigal Ciaran goal as they tried to pull back a four-point deficit and when Padraic McShane rammed in an injury-time goal, it looked as if they might at least get a draw, but time ran out and Errigal Ciaran edged through.
