Boxing:A 10-man Irish A team will take on a New York Golden Gloves selection in New York this weekend.

The Irish squad took part in a recent IABA Central Council box-off at the National Stadium ahead of their trip and will be under experienced coaches Christy McKenna from Drogheda and Ken Moore in New York.

According to IABA liaison officer Larry Morrison, they will be competing with confidence at the Christ the King High School in New York on Saturday night.
