Ireland came within seven minutes of securing a highly creditable scoreless draw with Germany on the final day of the under-21 four nations' tournament at Belfield yesterday, but the European champions snatched victory through a Kerstin Holm goal from their seventh penalty corner of the match. The result left Ireland in third place in the tournament, behind Germany, the winners, and Wales, with whom they drew 1-1 on Saturday - Railway Union's Ciara O'Brien equalised with 12 minutes to go.
