Back in the 1970s, Donal Houlihan established a record of sorts when winning three junior scratch cups within three weeks at Mallow, Ballybunion and Castletroy before retiring from golf for many years. However, the former Irish Junior Cup winner with Castletroy has returned to the sport at Kilrush Golf Club in Co Clare with considerable aplomb. Indeed, along with his son Donal Jnr, he has figured among the prizewinners in three of the first four competitions he has entered!
