EXHAM'S meeting, scheduled for today, was yesterday abandoned due to the waterlogged state of the course.

Following heavy rain, the stewards had planned a 7.30 a.m. inspection at the Tynedale venue. But after inspecting the track yesterday afternoon the officials decided to call the fixture off.

Hexham is the 69th meeting to be lost in the current jumps season.

Yesterday's card at Carlisle was also called of due to waterlogging after over three inches of rain had fallen at the Cumbrian track in the last fortnight.
