The card scheduled for yesterday was called off after a morning inspection but hopes to run it off today were quickly dashed.

A 3.00 inspection decided the inevitable and course manager John Maloney said: "There is no way the track could take the amount of rain that fell. We had 32mm overnight and in the circumstances it was better to be safe than sorry."
