A SCORING burst in the third quarter, when they shot over six points without reply, paved the way for victory for Leinster club champions Eire Og over a determined Westmeath side, Coralstown Kinnegad, in yesterday's Leinster SF championship match at Mullingar.

The Westmeath title holders with the aid of a fresh breeze played well in the first half and fnlly deserved their 0-5 to 0-4 interval lead. Eire Og, who channelled most of their attacking play through impressive full forward Colm Hayden, went into top gear on the resumption.
