Four-time winner Monica Seles was the main beneficiary from the withdrawal yesterday of Steffi Graf from next month's Australian Tennis Open.

Graf ruled herself out of the tournament citing fitness problems after a knee operation in June and as a result Seles will now move from fifth to fourth in the Australian Open seedings, ensuring a more protected path through to the semi-finals.
