Harps took the lead after 13 minutes through Mike Turner and Jonathan Minnock's floated free kick to the net from just outside the Galway United area after 40 minutes gave them a two-goal lead. Former Galway United player Johnny Kenny was at hand to poke home a cross from Paddy McGrenaghan just after half-time and with four minutes remaining the two combined again to score Harps' fourth.
