The 86th Tour de France cycling race will start in the Vendee region of western France in 1999, the general manager of the organising Societe du Tour de France, Jean-Marie Leblanc, said yesterday.
"The opening ceremony and the prologue will take place at le Puy-du-Fou on July 3rd," Leblanc said. This year's race starts in Dublin on July 11th.
