RACING: Juddmonte Farms have announced Frankel will stand at stud for a fee of £125,000 (€156,000) for his first season as a stallion.

Rated as the best racehorse in the world after ending his career unbeaten in 14 races, he will be based at owner Khalid Abdullah’s Banstead Manor Farm in Newmarket. He will be joined by the former Roger Charlton-trained sprinter Bated Breath who will command a fee of €9,967. Philip Mitchell, general manager at Banstead Manor, said: “The fee for Frankel reflects his merits as being perhaps the greatest racehorse we have ever witnessed.”
