Forde not on road back

MATTY FORDE has poured cold water on rumours of an intercounty comeback with the Wexford senior footballers.

MATTY FORDE has poured cold water on rumours of an intercounty comeback with the Wexford senior footballers.

The rumour mill went into overdrive recently when Forde met team trainer Mick Casey to receive a personalised training programme. But 32-year-old insists the programme is being used to treat a long-standing back problem only and stated that the prospect of returning to the intercounty fold is “very, very unlikely”.

Forde explained: “He (Casey) has done this for my own benefit, for my health going forward. It’s not with a view to going back playing with Wexford. He’s done this as a complete favour. He told me to do it for a couple of months, see how I get on.”
