Tomorrow's final between will be the 16th in the tournament's 68-year history bu the first between two teams that did not have to qualify.

Only six teams have won the title and only 10 have appeared in the final, all from Europe or South America. South American teams have won all but one of their seven finals against European teams. West Germany broke the trend in the 1990 final in Rome when they beat Argentina 1-0 with a penalty.
