KEITH FERGUS, who spent nearly a decade away from professional golf, continued his comeback yesterday, shooting a five-under-par 67 to take the lead at the midway point of the Greater Greensboro Classic in north Carolina.

The 42-year-old Fergus, who won three PGA events in the early 1980s, stood at seven-under 137 for a one-shot lead over Duffy Waldorf, Mike Sullivan and Japan's Hisayuki Sasaki.

Waldorf moved into contention by carding a seven-under 65, while Sullivan and Sasaki each shot 69.
