Mother and daughter Monica and Sara Byrne were in fierce competition for the President's (Dr Noel McCarthy's) Prize at Ardee. Monica just did enough to win on the back nine and they both had just a shot to spare over 10-handicapper Eileen Coyle who returned an excellent 79 gross.
