AMERICAN FOOTBALL:The top-seeded Atlanta Falcons avoided a massive upset with a last-minute field goal for a 30-28 win over the Seattle Seahawks last night after squandering a lead.

Matt Bryant’s 49-yard field goal with 13 seconds to play put the Falcons ahead a mere 21 seconds after the visiting Seahawks erased a 20-point fourth quarter deficit for their first lead of the game.
