SOCCER:RANGERS WERE hamstrung by an early away goal as their Europa League campaign ended against PSV Eindhoven in the last 16 at Ibrox last night. Jeremain Lens capitalised on some slack marking in the 14th minute to net the only goal of the tie from close range.

Rangers struggled in the immediate aftermath but they exerted some sustained second-half pressure, with Steven Naismith heading against the bar and Maurice Edu missing a great chance before appearing to have a goalbound shot blocked by the hand of PSV midfielder Atiba Hutchinson.

TV replays showed Hutchinson had handled on the line.
