There was no sweating over a crucial putt on the final green for Baltinglass member Ciara Donnelly who had an amazing 18-shot winning margin in her club's weekly competition. Donnelly returned 58 nett off 34 handicap to leave Olivia Byrne a very distant second.

The Kilrush club ignored our gentle hint that a handicap reduction might be in order for Miriam Saunders after her recent 52 nett and she proved us right by winning again with a modest 63, still playing off 45.

Our hot shot round-up wouldn't be complete without a mention for Dungarvan's Pat Frisby. He is flying high with a first and second place in two singles events in the space of four days!
