WASHINGTON - The Republican presidential candidate, Mr Bob Dole, said the bombing in Atlanta only strengthened US resolve to pursue and punish terrorists and said he would attend the games on Friday.

"Coming so soon after the bombing in Riyadh... and the still unresolved explosion of flight TWA 800 this tragedy only heightens our concern for Americans abroad and at home," he said.
