Disappointed Michael Dods vowed to battle for his international future yesterday, despite his surprise omission from the Scotland party to tour New Zealand.

Scotland coach Jim Telfer claimed Dods' performances in the Five Nations were "not good enough" to earn him a tour place, despite his having scored all 19 points - including two classy tries - in the famous victory over France.
