FOLLOWING his seven timer at Ascot on Saturday, Frankie Dettori is the new 6 to 4 favourite to win the BBC TV Sports Personality of the Year Award with bookmakers William Hill.

Dettori has relegated Olympic rower Steve Redgrave to 13 to 8 joint second favourite with Damon Hill.

"We offered him at 8 to 1 after Saturday's seven timer and punters have rushed to back him," said Hills' spokesman Graham Sharpe.
