Laura Davies shot a two-under-par 71 - then sat back and watched her rivals fail to match her three-under-par 143 total on a day of testing conditions in the second round of the Chrysler Open at Sjogarde, Gothenburg.

Relieved to be out early in the day before the worst of the wet, windy and cold conditions, the former world number one's only subpar score of the day secured a one-shot lead over Sweden's Carin Koch and Australia's former British Open Champion Karen Lunn.
