A REMARKABLE run of form that started with his side's 6-4 victory over Shelbourne earned Shamrock Rovers striker Tony Cousins the Opel/Soccer Writers' Association Of Ireland Player of the Month Award for February.

Cousins, who had spells with Liverpool and Chelsea before returning to the National League followed the hat trick in the Shelbourne game with two more goals against St Patrick's the following week. He made a similarly impressive start to March when he bagged another couple, against Bray Wanderers.
