Ireland's Derek Ryan had a straight-games victory over Tim Garner of England in the first round of the Mahindra International squash tournament in Bombay yesterday. Ryan, who has a rest day today, plays Scotland's Martin Heath in the second round tomorrow, a player he beat in the recent World Team Championships in Kuala Lumpur. A repeat victory over Heath should set up a third-round meeting with world number one Jansher Khan, in what is the third biggest tournament in the squash calendar, after the British Open and the Al Ahram International in Cairo.
