The Donegal club football championship has been awarded to the beaten finalists, Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon, following their successful objection against a player from the winning team, St Eunan's of Letterkenny. On September 6th, St Eunan's won the final by one point, 1-11 to 2-7, but Aodh Ruadh objected to Eunan's full forward Leslie McGettigan, who they alleged had played illegally in the US. That objection was upheld by the county's disciplinary committee.

Aodh Ruadh were awarded the county final and the chairman and secretary of the St Eunan's club were suspended for three months. St Eunan's have until today to appeal to the Donegal board.
