Tony Cascarino is a doubtful starter for the Republic of Ireland's World cup match against FYR Macedonia on Wednesday week. The Nancy striker missed the French first division game with Bordeaux on Saturday due to a niggling hamstring injury, which prevented him training last week.

Cascarino still hopes to face former club Marseilles on Wednesday night, but he fears that if the injury rules him out of that fixture, his club may be reluctant to, release him for international duty.
