AN opportunist goal by Sean Kavanagh just on half time put Carlow on the road to an easy victory over Kilkenny at Castlecomer.

There was no doubting Carlow were the better team throughout. However, they kicked eight bad wides during the opening half and were struggling to reflect their outfield superiority on the scoreboard.
