The former England captain, Will Carling, has added extra spice to the biller feud between the English clubs and Twickenham by criticising his international colleagues for supporting a breakaway.

The decision of the country's top stars to side with the breakaway body, the English Professional Rugby Union Clubs, has deeply concerned Carling, who quit the captaincy in March, on the day England clinched the Five Nations Championship.
