LIAM BOTHAM, 19 year old son of the legendary Ian, took five wickets to cap a remarkable first class debut for Hampshire against Middlesex at Portsmouth yesterday.

Botham was brought into the attack with the score on 36 for two and needed just seven balls to make a spectacular impact by bagging the prized scalp of ex England captain Mike Gatting.

He added the wickets of John Carr, Richard Johnson, Richard Fay and Phil Tufnell.
