WOMEN'S FOOTBALLBrian Boru's 1-9 St Brigid's 1-8:TIPPERARY OUTFIT Brian Boru's held on for a thrilling one-point victory against Dublin's St Brigid's in the intermediate final at St Peregrine's club in Dublin yesterday.

Brian Boru’s played with the aid of an icy gale in the first half and Clare Grogan’s goal helped them into a 1-8 to 0-0 lead at half-time.

With the wind advantage after half-time, and boosted by a fisted goal within a minute of the restart from Noelle Healy, St Brigid’s roared back into contention and with eight minutes left, they were back to within a single point, 1-7 to 1-8.

Trisha Hickey grabbed the only point of the half for the winners which proved the vital score.
