SLIGO SHC FINAL: Western Gaels 2-15 Coolera/Strandhill 2-8:DAVID BARRETT bagged 10 points as Western Gaels made it third time lucky at Markievicz Park yesterday.

Beaten finalists in 2008 and 2009 the Gaels were too slick for Coolera/Strandhill. The Gaels went three points in front in the 11th minute when a Barrett free struck the post with Michael McGowan drilling the rebound to the net. Coolera/Strandhill failed to score from that point to the end of the half while Western Gaels tagged on eight points to lead by 1-9 to 0-4 at half time.
