CyclingDENNIS BAKKER (Ruiter Dakkapellen) seized the final overall victory in the Kerry Group Rás Mumhan yesterday.

Bakker won the final stage in Killorglin and gained sufficient time to depose overnight leader Ryan Sherlock (Iverk/Carrick Wheelers).

The Dutchman had started the concluding 115 kilometre leg 44 seconds behind in third place, but was one of three who broke clear during nine laps of the finishing circuit.

The gap grew sufficiently to threaten Sherlock’s lead. He chased, but crashed on the final lap.

When the time differences were calculated, they put Bakker 11 seconds clear of Sherlock in the final standings.

Elsewhere, Daniel Kirwan (Lucan CRC) took the An Post Gorey Three Day, while Matt Flynn (Mountivation UK) won the final stage. Felix English won the final stage of the PO Irish Ferries Tour of North.

James Moss (Node4-Giordana) was the final overall victor.
