It has been an exciting two years for West Waterford young lion John Dunphy who last week was elected as the Golf Foundation's most improved young player in Britain and Ireland. In just under two years, Dunphy has reduced his handicap from 30 to four and in the process winning several major boys' competitions as well as reaching the All-Ireland Schools finals last year. Last Monday, John received his Golf Foundation award from former Ryder Cup captain Bernard Gallacher.
