Armagh 0-12 Sligo 0-9: Armagh could easily have paid a high price for hitting 25 wides in yesterday's All-Ireland women's junior final at Croke Park. The sides were evenly poised at 0-7 apiece at half-time, even though Armagh had the greater share of possession.

Patricia McEvoy had a goal disallowed for a square ball, and had Sligo's two goal chances from Stephanie O'Reilly gone in then the pressure would have mounted too. Armagh did enough to hold on, with Caroline O'Hanlon a constant force at midfield, while Sharon Duncan and Maighdlin McAlinden got enough of their shots on target.

SCORERS - Armagh: S Duncan (0-3), M McAlinden (0-3), A Matthews (0-3, all frees), C O'Hanlon (0-2), M Moriarty (0-1).

Sligo: N Gormley (0-5, all frees), S O'Reilly, T Marren, H Haran, L Bret (0-1 each).

Referee: Derek Byrne (Limerick).
