Antrim proved much superior to Down in the Ulster MHC final at Casement Park yesterday.

They controlled the game for most of the hour. Declan McKillop, Malachy Dallas and Jonathan Flynn excelled in defence.

Goals in the seventh minute by Ciaran Magee and five minutes from half- time by Gareth Ward saw Antrim ahead by 2-6 to 0-6 at the interval. Down had played in patches with some good points from Paul Milligan and Barry Murray.

A goal eight minutes into the second half by full forward Brian McNaughton made most of the second half academic. Garrett Curran scored a late goal.
