Sir, - Today's issue of The Irish Times (August 2nd) featured a picture of a lovely orang utan named Sibu, who will live out the rest of his life in Dublin Zoo.
It distresses and annoys me to see such a beautiful animal, like many more, kept in small, cramped cages. Zoos are not suitable environment for wild animals, and it is my opinion that they should be phased out. - Yours etc.,
