Madam, - I found the participation of State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy in an RTÉ series on recent cases of unnatural death entirely inappropriate. Not alone is it distressing for the families to be thrust once again into the spotlight, shown by the Murphy family's response to Monday night's documentary about their son, Brian; it also denigrates the official role of state pathologist. It serves no purpose other than to be tabloid and inflammatory. - Yours, etc,
