Madam, - The recycling unit in Ballyogan will take only certain plastics - those with a 1, 2 or 4 in the centre of the recycling symbol. Hence I have started taking all non-recyclable plastics - well-washed - back to the offending supermarket with a note asking them to "please inform their supplier to use recyclable plastic in future".
Perhaps if many other people did this, we could soon recycle lots more. - Yours, etc.,
