Sir, – Joe Humphreys suggests several reasons why large numbers of people are actively avoiding news disseminated by the “legacy media” (“Why is ‘news avoidance’ on the rise?”, Opinion, September 9th).

Surely the root cause is that the so-called mainstream media increasingly reflects the concerns, agendas and priorities of leftist NGOs, public sector unions and bourgeois students?

Reality is often very different when viewed from outside the media bubble. – Yours, etc,
