Moscow - Russia's central election commission yesterday rejected the flamboyant nationalist Mr Vladimir Zhirinovsky's registration for next month's presidential election, a commission spokesman said.

Mr Zhirinovsky immediately vowed to fight the case in court. Russian news agencies had reported that the commission had discovered a small two-room Moscow apartment which it said was owned by Mr Zhirinovsky's son and not indicated on the family's income declaration.
