A 16 year old youth suffered a broken leg and arm in a so called punishment beating in Dungannon, Co Tyrone, last night. The youth was walking home when he was set upon by masked men armed with iron bars, who claimed to be members of the Provisional IRA.

In another incident on Friday, two youths were locked in a lavatory in a flat in west Belfast while masked men carried out a "punishment" attack on their friend.

The 17 year old victim suffered broken legs after he was beaten with iron bars in Twinbrook. No organisation has claimed responsibility.
