Gangs throwing stones and other missiles today attacked the police and tried to hijack vehicles in Lurgan in Northern Ireland.
Motorists in the Co Armagh town were being urged to avoid the nationalist Kilwilkee Estate, Lake Street, North Circular Road and Antrim Road following the disturbances.
There were also reports that a minibus was hijacked.
Earlier this week, there were disturbances after police discovered components for a 250lb bomb at a breakers yard on the Antrim Road.
