A 16-year-old youth appeared at a special court in Galway last night charged with raping a 20-year-old French woman in the Knock nacarra area of the city on January 24th. Det Garda Michael Moran told the court that, when charged, the youth had replied "guilty". He was remanded in custody to Galway District Court on Monday.
