A teenager was seriously injured in a paramilitary-style punishment beating in Lisburn, Co. Antrim last night.

Up to six men wearing balaclavas and armed with baseball bats and sledge-hammers forced their way into a flat in the loyalist Old Warren district at around 9.40 p.m. One attacker carried a handgun. The 16-year-old youth sustained puncture wounds to the head and knee and bruises to his arms and legs. Two girls who witnessed the attack were not harmed.
