Youth injured in Belfast shooting

A 17-year-old youth was shot in the right leg in west Belfast last night.

A 17-year-old youth was shot in the right leg in west Belfast last night.

He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police said three men attacked the teenager close to a convenience store on the Whiterock Road at about 10.15pm before escaping in a waiting red Mondeo.

Detectives appealed for anyone with information concerning the incident to contact them.
