A youth who was held for questioning by detectives following a fatal shooting in the Moyross area of Limerick last weekend has been freed.

The 18-year-old is understood to have been in a car with Frankie Ryan (21) when he was shot dead on Sunday evening in the latest feud-related killing in Limerick.

He fled the scene but was arrested a short time later and held under Section 30 of the offences Against the State Act. He was released today without charge.

Gardaí are still hunting for the chief suspect in the murder.
